HISTORY
THE PILGRIM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH has a rich and glorious history that began more than one hundred and fifty years ago. The original records of the church were destroyed by fire, and the history is now told by the older generations of the church. They, in turn, learned about the church from their fore parents whose roots go back as far as slavery times.
Purpose & Goals
The purpose of the church is twofold; one, to provide a spiritual haven for those who are lost and secondly, for the making of disciples
Our goal is to be builders of the church, representatives of the kingdom of God, and keepers of his vineyard.
Our goal as builders will not stop at the doors of our sanctuary but will spread throughout the community. Programs are in place that will enhance not only the Christian community, but the community at large. Paul states in 2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the tearing down
of strong holds).
VISION
One special area of concentration will be the youth of our community. The vision is geared toward the concept that this church will serve as a monument for our children. It will be so that this generation and generations to come, will benefit from the fruit of our labor, our investments and our blessings.
Furthermore, we envision a facility that will be able to house ministries, that will revolutionize the way we are presently ministering to the community (Isaiah 43:19 says “Behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth shall ye not know it?)
Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church will strive in unity and continue to acknowledge God in all our ways so that he will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:6).
